road candy

Split colour van needs some work. Extra polys needed to realise 2 colour paint scheme properly.

Van needs: holes punching out for windows on driver side; rear lights; and decent interior. Still undecided about making mid doors open. There would have to be a real good reason; deluxe trim and issues with window glass anomalies

Panel van next...

moving along at snail pace...

windows made of toffee? cant get around these glass errors yet...duh

Many things getting in way...
Gotta be worth it come finish day!

Some things Ive found - IMO modelling tools are a little too organic for machine made items like cars. As I say it might just be me...
Cinema4D renderer is tasty but complex to handle - like spaghetti or eating rice with chopsticks.

latest on models...

One of those grainy renders in standard texture.
The camper taking shape now. I wonder if the modelling could be speeded up with spline based tools? The methods available at the moment in Cinema4D do seem a little inaccurate at times...

Finally a new lighting rig...

A lighting rig that uses ambient occlusion to generate shadowing. Its quite long winded to set up but flexible. For the bike model render times were 4 hours. Will try it with Global Illumination eventually but as AO is a 'cheap' GI solution maybe not much point...

Escort texturing takes back seat...

Early look at camper. Somewhat simpler than the Escort it still has areas that might cause grief....
Moved on to camper as a distraction from understanding Global illumination settings in Cinema4D- gasp.
